DIE NATUR HAT IMMER RECHT I

Die Prämisse, dass die Natur den Menschen nicht benötigt, während der Mensch fundamental auf die Natur angewiesen ist, bildet den theoretischen Kern der neuen Ausstellungsreihe des KUNSTSALONS. In einer Zeit, die durch das Anthropozän geprägt ist, in der menschliche Aktivitäten die geologischen und ökologischen Systeme der Erde maßgeblich beeinflussen, erweist sich diese Erkenntnis als dringlich relevant. Die Künstlerinnen Marie Ruprecht und Antonia Riederer nehmen sich dieser Thematik an, um eine kritische Reflexion über das Verhältnis von Mensch und Natur im Kontext aktueller gesellschaftlicher und ökologischer Herausforderungen anzustoßen.

Die Ausstellungsserie fungiert als Plattform für eine interdisziplinäre Auseinandersetzung mit der Rolle der Natur im zeitgenössischen Diskurs. Unter Bezugnahme auf ein Zitat Goethes – „Die Natur versteht gar keinen Spaß, sie ist immer wahr, immer ernst, immer strenge; sie hat immer Recht, und die Fehler und Irrthümer sind immer des Menschen“ – wird die vermeintliche Überordnung des Menschen über die Natur infrage gestellt. Stattdessen wird die Notwendigkeit einer ethischen und ökologischen Neuorientierung betont, die das menschliche Handeln als integralen Bestandteil eines komplexen, interdependenten Systems begreift.

Die Ausstellungen des KUNSTSALONS zielen darauf ab, ein Bewusstsein für die Fragilität aber auch für die Resilienz der uns umgebenden Natur zu schaffen. Die anthropozentrische Weltsicht wird dabei hinterfragt. Sowohl wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse als auch philosophische Überlegungen werden in den künstlerischen Prozess integriert, um eine vielschichtige Perspektive auf das Verhältnis von Mensch und Natur zu ermöglichen.

NATURE IS ALWAYS RIGHT I
​The premise that nature does not need humankind, while humankind is fundamentally dependent on nature, forms the core of KUNSTSALON’s new exhibition series. In an era marked by the Anthropocene, where human activities significantly influence the Earth’s geological and ecological systems, this realization proves to be of urgent relevance. Artists Marie Ruprecht and Antonia Riederer address this theme to initiate a critical reflection on the relationship between humans and nature within the context of current social and ecological challenges.

The exhibition series serves as a platform for an interdisciplinary examination of nature’s role as an independent subject in contemporary discourse. Drawing upon Goethe’s aphorism – „Nature understands no jest; she is always true, always serious, always severe; she is always right, and the errors and faults are always those of man“ – the 1 supposed superiority of humans over nature is questioned. Instead, the necessity for an ethical and ecological reorientation is emphasized, one that understands human action as an integral part of a complex, interdependent system.

KUNSTSALON’s exhibitions aim to create awareness of the fragility and resilience of the natural environment through artistic interventions and installations. Both scientific findings and philosophical considerations are integrated into the artistic process to enable a multifaceted perspective on the relationship between humans and nature.
